OakParkApartments.com feels very strongly that giving back matters. That is why OPA decided to become a sponsor for Community Bank’s Makin’ Tracks 5K run/walk.
This special event is co-hosted by Community Bank, The River Forest Park District, Concordia University and Fenwick High School with proceeds from this race going to benefit the West Suburban Special Recreation Association (WSSRA).
WSSRA is an organization that assists both adults and children who have physical or mental impairments by providing superior recreational services to enrich their quality of life.
The WSSRA offers a wide array of recreational programs at over 75 community locations at a cost that is similar to those charged for regular park district programing. Due to participants varying abilities special transportation services are an important aspect to WSSRA programming. Since the WSSRA does not want their programming costs to prohibit anyone from participating they have set up scholarship funding for those in need.
That is where events like Makin’ Tracks help to make a difference in the ongoing programming offered by the WSSRA. Makin’ Tracks has been an annual community event that has raised money for the WSSRA, either through event participation or business sponsorship, for the last 15 years.
This is where OakParkApartments.com wants to do its part and so, of course, we, as a company, decided to sponsor this worthy event. But, then we thought that we would like to do more – OPA would like to sponsor tenants who would like to walk/run in this event.
This is how it we’ll do it:
We ask that present tenants who want to participate email a completed registration form (see link below) to [email protected] by September 12th. OPA will write a check sponsoring all entries that are received by the 12th and then turn in those entries to the River Forest Park District. You, as a tenant, are then officially signed up and ready to walk or run for a good cause – on us! To sweeten the deal we will add an incentive: the male and female tenant participants who finish the race first will be win $100! How could you turn that down! So lace up your running shoes and get ready to hoof it for a good cause!
