Part of OakParkApartments.com desire to run a contest to celebrate 25 years in business is to not only be able to give a donation but to increase community awareness of all the good that is done by the wide variety of charities in Oak Park. Below is the mission of Parenthesis Family Center and the history of this great organization.
“The Parenthesis mission is to strengthen family bonds and promote the development of parents and young children by affirming the parent/child relationship, improving parenting skills, and alleviating family isolation.
In 1980 Parenthesis Family Center was founded as a resource for families with young children living in the Oak Park, River Forest, and Forest Park communities. The agency provided parenting education, peer support and respite for new families with young children in the community. Parenthesis developed the Morning Family Drop-In Program so that parents could network and learn together.”
