The mobile food truck has become the newest rage in the food service industry. Long gone are the boring hot dogs or simple Good Humor bars that one used to associate with a food truck. Today’s food trucks offer a vast array of gourmet delights.
Jumping on this growing food trend is Pilgrim Congregational Church, hosting the very first of its’ kind: Oak Park’s Great Food Truck Rally!
The Food Rally takes place this coming Saturday, May 11th. No matter rain or shine, food trucks will be at Pilgrim Church at 460 Lake Street from noon until 6 p.m. ready to dish up a culinary feast (fyi: Pilgrim Church is right across the street from OakParkApartments.com’s Lake and Elmwood building – where the Farmer’s Market takes place in the summer.)
Oak Park’s Great Food Truck Rally will feature 12 of some of the best gourmet food trucks from the Chicagoland area right here in the Village of Oak Park. Whether you prefer Jamaican jerk or Indian curried chicken – both will be available to sample at the rally. Tamales, veggie wraps, sliders, grilled cheese or meatloaf – Oh so many choices and oh so little stomach room – thank goodness the event covers both lunch and dinner! When you’re enjoying multiple main course options make sure to leave some room for dessert. Available for the sweet tooth are cupcakes, frozen treats, the famous Farmer’s Market donuts as well as Oak Park’s very own coffee truck, Mojo Express.
Grab a bite then just sit back and enjoy an Oak Park classic and favorite – The Farmers Market Band!
