OakParkApartments.com wants to give our tenants a quick parking heads up as we head into the Thanksgiving holiday.
You will not get a ticket if you or your Thanksgiving guests need to park overnight on Oak Park’s residential streets (hurray!). The restrictions have been eased for the entire Thanksgiving weekend, starting at 2:30 a.m., Thursday, November 26th, and ending at 2:30 a.m., Monday, November 30th.
Be aware that other restrictions may remain in effect in some overnight permit areas, such as Village-owned lots, on-street enclaves and on-street overnight parking zones. Also know that all other parking regulations will remain in effect (so pay attention to the daytime posted restrictions so you don’t get a ticket – it is still Oak Park you know!)
Finally, Oak Park shoppers will get an early holiday present – free parking in Village parking garages in Oak Park’s business districts on both Friday, November 27rd and Saturday, November 28th to help start your holiday shopping off right.
If that Thanksgiving parking present wasn’t enough the Village will offer more free parking as an added incentive to shop local – parking on all Saturdays leading up to the holidays in December are free. BTW a parking fyi: parking in Oak Park always is free on Sundays!
