Happy 40th birthday to Oak Park’s beloved Farmer’s Market!
This Saturday, May 23rd, Oak Park will once again welcome the return of our Village’s Farmer’s Market for it’s fortieth season. The market is a sure sign that summer is finally here – bringing the community together to purchase and indulge in all sorts of locally grown, fresh fruits, veggies and more!
Oak Park’s Farmer’s Market is located in the parking lot of Pilgrim Church at 460 Lake Street. (right across the street from OakParkApartments.com’s Lake and Elmwood property!) Not only does the market provide an abundance of fresh fruit and veggie choices from local, midwest farmers, there are many other venders that make this market a one stop, weekend shop.
Honey, jams & salsas, plants & flowers, organically raised, grass-fed beef, specialty cheeses and artisan breads – are just a few of the varied offerings to chose from. Not only are there wonderful, delicious treats to purchase for your week of eats but there is also live bluegrass music for your listening enjoyment and, to accompany the free entertainment, are the not to be missed, donuts. Delicious, homemade, charity driven donuts. Powdered sugar, plain and cinnamon are all options for the taste buds. Hot out of the fryer, all the proceeds to these melt in your mouth doughy delicacies go to support a different Oak Park charity each weekend.
So be sure not to miss the market’s big 4-0 this Saturday – you stomach will thank you!
