Fall Activities Near Our Oak Park Apartments
While it’s sad to say goodbye to summer, we’re fortunate that fall is full of fun things to do in and around Oak Park. From family-friendly Halloween activities and fun runs to beer and wine festivals for the adults, there’s something for everyone. Check out this short-list of our favorite fall events near our Oak Park Apartments.
Oaktoberfest | September 23-24, 2021
Enjoy live music, fall foods, craft beer and fine wines at Oaktoberfest in Downtown Oak Park from 4:00 to 10:00pm on Friday and 12:00 to10:00pm on Saturday. There’s even a Kids’ Root Beer Garden on Saturday from 12:00 to 5:00pm. Admission is free. Drink tickets cost $10 or buy three tickets for $30 and receive a 22 oz. souvenir mug.
Fall Fest | September 25, 2022
Enjoy family-friendly games and activities, inflatables, a DJ, train rides, and food vendors at Rehm Park, plus kids crafts and a pumpkin patch at the Oak Park Conservatory. Fall Fest is held from 11:00am to 2:00pm, and admission is free.
Chicago Beer Festival | October 8, 2022
The Chicago Beer Festival is held at the Field Museum in Chicago from 7:00-11:00pm. Sample beers from more than 65 breweries and enjoy music, food and a select number of the museum’s exhibits. General admission is $50 for two hours or purchase an early admission ticket for $65 and enter the festival an hour early. This is 21+ event.
Boo! at the Zoo | October 8-23, 2022
Visit the Brookfield Zoo on Saturdays and Sundays in October for Boo! at the Zoo. Kids of all ages are welcome. Come in costume and enjoy a variety of Halloween-themed activities and family photo ops. Zoo admission is $24.95 for adults and $17.95 for children 3 to 11 years of age.
2022 Frank Lloyd Wright Races | October 16, 2022
Now in its 46th year, the Frank Lloyd Wright Races is one of the longest running racing events in Illinois. Choose from a 10K run, a 5K run/walk or the youth mile for ages 7-14. The course takes participants past several Frank Lloyd Wright homes and through Oak Park’s beautiful, tree-lined streets. All participants receive a t-shirt.
Fright at Night | October 21, 2022
See what poisonous plants grow in the shadows of the Bootanical Oak Park Conservatory. Come in costume and get in the Halloween spirit. Fun for all ages, tickets cost between $9 and $12. Admission to Fright at Night is every 30 minutes and registration is required in advance.
