Hey OakParkApartments.com friends there are many options for some Halloween fun this week – you can find things to do for any age and fright level!  Here are a couple ideas to help get your Halloween fun started!

TRUCK OR TREAT: Friday, October 28th, 5:00 to 7:00 PM – Join the Pleasant District Association for a FREE family fun event! All participating businesses will provide construction tokens and goodies for kids. Family dining specials will be available at Barclay’s American Grille, La Bella Pasteria, Marion Street Cheese Market, Poor Phil’s, and Szechwan-Beijing Restaurant.  www.pleasantdistrictoakpark.com.

Fright at Night: Friday, October 28, 2011, 6-8 pm - Take a walk through the dark conservatory if you dare! Some say that strange and unexplained sounds and movement have occurred under the glass of the Oak Park Conservatory. Is this place really an ancient burial ground? Does the spirit of the farmer, who once owned this land, still haunt the tropical room? Be warned, there are no guarantees that you will escape or escape unharmed. $5 admission. www.oakparkparks.com

Spirits in the Night Haunted House Walk: Friday, October 28th, 7 pm - Be Forewarned! These Frightful Stories are True. Join the Historical Society for an evening of history, mystery and Spirits that go bump in the night at the Spirits in the Night Haunted House Walk. Reservations are required for this event. Ticket sales are limited, so don’t be left out. The tour includes four haunted sites (two of which are new this year), and an authentic Victorian wake. Meet local paranormals who will unlock the secrets of the spirit world and share “ghostbusting” efforts to “cleanse” houses of unwanted visitors. Tour groups will depart from the Oak Park Township parking lot (105 S. Oak Park Avenue) between 7 pm and 8:30 pm, rain or shine. Individuals will be assigned to groups starting at 7 pm, as online tickets are received. You’ll receive an email confirming your order, departure time, location for tour parking. Halloween 75th Anniversary Show at the Lake Theatre: Friday, October 28th, Midnight - Come dressed in your Halloween Costume and join us for a showing of The Invisible Ray and an episode of Flash Gordon. This event is $5 and proceeds will go to the Greater Chicago Depository. The Invisible Ray is presented by XRT’s “The Regular Guy”! The Invisible Ray: Visionary scientist Janos Rukh convinces a group of scientists and supporters to mount an expedition to the African continent to locate and study an ancient meteorite of great significance. www.classiccinemas.com

Zombie Pub Crawl: Saturday, October 29th, 4:30 – 8:30 pm – The Roosevelt Road Business Association brings back the Zombie Pub Crawl. The Zombie Walk is founded on the participation of Halloween-lovers willing to take their zombie motif to the limit. To help, Horrorbles will sponsor makeup and costume staging from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Culver’s and Citizens Community Bank, both on Roosevelt Road,  in Berwyn. Once properly attired, zombies will be led on a pub crawl that will overtake 12th Street Rag, Commodore Barry VFW Post, Friendly Tap and FitzGerald’s.  In the true spirit of the undead, zombies will proceed between venues in silence, moaning & groaning only! Once the crawl is over, zombies can resume their search for brains at their favorite Berwyn haunts or head on over to Fitzgerald’s for some after party fun with the Ghost of Rock Stars Past party – food, films and other un-deadly fun provided. The Zombie Walk and Pub Crawl is $15, which includes admission, makeup and food. Haunted Tour on Segways: Nightly, through Oct 30 - Kucha and Baba Tony from “Your Favorite Story Tellers” will deliver their eerie ghost tales for a nighttime Segway tour in Oak Park. The haunted tour begins at the Oak Park Segway office 715 Lake St, suite 200, nightly through Halloween Eve October 30th at 6:30pm. The Haunted tour will last approximately two and half hours and includes hot refreshments at Under the Gingko Tree Bed and Breakfast. Those brave souls who take the tour will be automatically entered into a drawing to receive two Chocolate Tour gift certificates provided by Oak Park Segway and High Tea for six at Under the Gingko Tree Bed and Breakfast. As a precaution against the supernatural each rider will be provided with an anti-paranormal personal protection vest along with a helmet mounted anti-ectoplasm LED lantern. CREATURES OF THE NIGHT: Sunday, October 30th, 1:00 to 2:30 PM – Trailside Museum of Natural History, 738 Thatcher Ave., in River Forest, presents: Creatures of the Night. Who’s creeping when you’re sleeping? Nocturnal animals, of course! Children ages 7 – 12, w/adult, are invited to a fun program and craft to learn about some local night creatures. Lastly, the official hours for Halloween trick or treating in Oak Park are 3 – 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 31!
